Ziaan Lalani
Receptive · Ambitious · Driven
My name is Ziaan Lalani. Most things you may be interested in finding out about me are easily found in my resume. However, I always look to gauge a person by the way they think about certain topics. Understanding my values and interests are an unskippable step in formualating a comprehensive understanding of who I am. Here is a condensed version of my wide-spanning ethos:
A large part of the things I value today stem from the environment I grew up in. Mumbai—the city I have called home for as long as I can remember—was laden with inequities . Disparities in income, wealth, opportunity and most importantly, humanity have driven me to take initiative in aiming to bridge the gaps that were seemingly getting wider by the minute. What particularly bothered me was the idea that in areas where the apex predators in Mumbai's interdependent foodchain lived, streets existed where millionares would drive by in their supercars just moments before the homeless—who had starved that day—would be setting up their sleeping accomodation for another scorching Mumbai night.
Admittedly, not in a way that leaves no stone unturned, I strive to contribute towards greater equity in personal outcomes. Issues that bother me and action I want to take follows easily because I see myself to be highly intrinsically motivated and disciplined (did I mention, I'm also very humble).
